Gentalk Presentation

On Wednesday 4th February, the all new 2nd Life Gen Village Training Capability was showcased for the first time with a session from Malcolm Foort on the new QA Console software from Response Systems. The presentation gave an overview of Response Systems browser software - Access Gen - and showed how the QA Console integrates into it.

The power of the QA Console lies in its ability to combine a supplied set of universally applicable Base Checks with CA Gen written Custom Checks and run them both side by side. The session revealed the basic encyclopedia principles behind developing Custom Checks, demonstrating how the QA Console can be used to produce a complete bespoke automated Quality Assurance solution without reliance on 3rd party vendors.

The presentation is available for download from the Gentalk website at http://gentalk.biz/blog. If you would like any further information or would like to arrange a one-to-one meeting in the Gen Village then please contact Malcolm Foort at malcolm.foort@response-systems.com.

Many thanks to Andrew Shapton for his invaluable support in arranging and facilitating the presentation. Please find the time to support his tireless efforts with the 2nd Life Gen Village and make sure this important resource reaches its full potential. Product Rename

In order to give greater clarity and focus to our product range, we have decided to simplify the naming and software options that are available to our customers. To facilitate this, all products will now be marketed and developed under a common name – Access Gen. The Access Gen portfolio contains two core products, Access Gen (TSO) and Access Gen (Windows). The following shows how they map to their former name and their applicable encyclopedia platforms.

Access Gen (TSO)
Interface Type: ISPF
Former Name: CE-Access
Applicable to: Host Encyclopedia

Access Gen (Windows)
Interface Type: GUI
Former Name: CSE-Access / CSE-Access for Z/OS / CSE-Edit
Applicable to: Host Encyclopedia and Client Server Encyclopedia

There are also optional add-ons to the core products.

Access Gen (TSO) add-on: Edit Console
Former Name: CE-Edit
Applicable to: Host Encyclopedia

Access Gen (Windows) add-on: QA Console
Former Name: N/A
Applicable to: Host Encyclopedia and Client Server Encyclopedia

These changes have been made to provide our customers with a clear definition of the products we offer, the platforms they are applicable to and the additional options available to the core software. We remain absolutely committed to the continued enhancement and support of Access Gen in all its forms in line with customer feedback and industry developments.
